Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 21, 2026

The Short Version

  • What we collect: what you tell us when you contact us, and, when you browse, the pages you view, how you got here, your device and browser, your IP address, and an approximate location (down to city and ZIP code) and internet provider worked out from it
  • Why: to answer your request, to see which ads and pages lead to real service calls, and to block spam and fraud
  • Your choice: decline on our banner, or let your browser send a Global Privacy Control signal, and we stop our own tracking of your visit and stop storing your IP address and the request headers your browser sends in our analytics records (the routine server logs described below are separate)
  • How long: your IP address and request headers are erased from our analytics records after 90 days; the rest of your browsing record after 13 months of inactivity; a request you submit is kept as a business record. Routine server logs are kept for about two weeks, and backups for a little longer (see "How Long We Keep Information")
  • We don't sell your information. You can ask what we hold, get a copy, or have your website activity deleted by emailing or calling us (details below)

Who We Are

CDS Service Co ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by CDS SERVICE CO TAMPA LLC, a licensed plumbing and general contractor serving Hillsborough & Pinellas counties (and select areas of Pasco & Manatee counties on a case-by-case basis) in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. This policy explains what information we collect through cdsserviceco.com and our phone lines, how we use it, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to run the business, and we keep it only as long as we need it.

Information You Provide to Us

When you request a quote, book a service, or contact us (by web form, phone, text, or email), we collect what you give us to respond: your name, phone number, email address, service address or ZIP code, and details about the plumbing issue or service you're asking about.

Information Collected Automatically

When you browse our site, we automatically collect:

  • A first-party browser identifier (cookie) used to recognize repeat visits and connect a later form submission or call back to the pages you viewed and the ad or search result that brought you here
  • Pages viewed, referring page, and marketing parameters (such as UTM tags or ad click IDs) attached to the link you followed
  • Device and browser information (browser type, operating system, device type, language, screen size, and the technical details, such as request headers, your browser sends with every page request; never your cookies or any login credentials)
  • Your IP address, which we store, along with a one-way cryptographic hash of it that we use to recognize repeat visits and limit abuse
  • An approximate location (down to city and ZIP code, not precise GPS) and the network you connect from (your internet provider), worked out by sending your IP address to a geolocation service when you visit. We keep the location, the network, and the service's response

This browsing data is not tied to your name or contact details unless and until you submit a form or call us. When you submit a form (and haven't declined tracking), we keep the IP address it was sent from with your request. It's used for lead attribution (which page and marketing channel led to your request), fraud and spam prevention, and to understand how the site as a whole is performing.

By default, we collect this browsing data for your visit. You can decline below, or your browser can tell us not to via a Global Privacy Control signal — either way, we stop collecting it, stop storing your IP address and the request headers your browser sends in our analytics records, and stop sending anything to Google Analytics for you, cookied or not. (Like any website, our servers still see your IP address to answer your request and keep routine access logs; see "How Long We Keep Information" below.) If you decline after you've already visited, we also erase the IP address and request headers we recorded for your earlier visits; a request you already submitted keeps the address it came from. We still keep simple, anonymous counts that can't be tied back to you or any other visitor — for example, "this page received one view" or "one quote request was submitted from search traffic" — so we can still tell whether the site as a whole is working, without keeping a profile of any individual visitor who opted out.

Phone Calls

We use call-tracking phone numbers so we can tell which marketing channel a call came from. Calls to those numbers may be recorded for quality assurance and to accurately log your service request. When we record, you'll hear a recorded announcement before the call connects, letting you know the call may be recorded.

How We Use Information

  • To respond to your quote request, schedule service, and communicate about work in progress
  • To understand which marketing channels and pages lead to real service requests, so we can spend our advertising budget effectively
  • To detect and prevent spam, fraud, and abusive form submissions
  • To maintain and improve the site itself

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to run the business:

  • Service providers who perform work on our behalf under contract, such as call tracking and recording, appointment/CRM software, email and SMS delivery, our website hosting and content-delivery/security providers, and the geolocation service that receives your IP address to work out your approximate location, and who are only permitted to use it to provide that service to us
  • Advertising and analytics platforms (such as Google and Meta), where enabled and only for visitors who haven't declined cookies, to measure whether an ad or campaign led to a real service request. What's shared is limited to conversion signals, such as the fact that a form was submitted after a given ad click and, for a completed job, the job's dollar value, not the content of your message. If you've declined cookies, we send these platforms no analytics or conversion information about your visit (see the next section for content your browser loads from some of them directly)
  • Legal or safety reasons, if required to comply with a law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of CDS Service Co, our customers, or the public
  • Business transfers, if CDS Service Co is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets

Content Loaded Directly From Other Companies

Some pages load content straight from other companies' servers instead of ours: reviewers' profile photos come from Google's servers, some pages (such as Contact, About Us, and our Tampa and St. Petersburg pages) show an embedded Google Map, and our interactive maps use map tiles from OpenStreetMap. When your browser loads that content, the company that hosts it receives your IP address, your browser details, and the address of the page you are viewing, and it may collect information about your online activities over time and across different websites, using its own cookies or tools, under its own privacy policy, which we don't control. Our content-delivery provider, Cloudflare, also adds a script to our pages that measures visits to the site. Because your browser makes these requests itself, declining our tracking or sending a Global Privacy Control signal does not stop any of them.

Cookies

Our visitor-recognition cookie expires after 13 months. When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or decline it; declining stops the browsing-history collection described above for that visit, immediately. If you dismiss the banner without choosing either option, or simply keep browsing, we continue to track your visit by default, the same as if you'd clicked Accept, unless your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal described below. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser's settings at any time; doing so may affect how well parts of the site work but will not prevent you from browsing the site or reaching us by phone. See Your Privacy Choices below to turn tracking on or off by category, or to export or delete what we hold.

We also honor Global Privacy Control (GPC), a browser or browser-extension setting that tells sites you don't want to be tracked without having to click anything on each one. If your browser sends this signal, we treat it the same as declining cookies, unless you've separately clicked Accept on our own banner.

How Long We Keep Information

Browsing data (the cookie identifier and the pages/sessions tied to it) is kept for up to 13 months of inactivity, then automatically deleted. The most detailed technical data we record about a visit (your IP address, the request headers your browser sent, and the geolocation service's response) is erased after 90 days, even while the rest of that visit's record, such as its approximate location, remains until the 13-month deletion. Information tied to a service request you actually submitted, including your name, contact details, what you asked for, and the IP address the request was sent from, is kept as a business record for as long as reasonably needed to service your request, maintain our books, and meet legal/warranty obligations.

Server logs and backups. Like nearly every website, the servers that deliver this site keep routine access logs (your IP address, the page requested, and the time) for security and troubleshooting. We keep them for up to about two weeks. Declining tracking does not switch these off, because a server has to receive a request in order to answer it. Encrypted backups of our database are automatically deleted, normally within two months and never later than about four months after they were made. So information we have erased from our live records, such as an IP address after 90 days, can remain in an older backup until that backup is deleted.

Security

We use HTTPS encryption for all traffic to and from our site, limit access to the information we hold to the people who need it to run the business, and erase the most detailed technical data from our live records after 90 days. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable, industry-standard steps to protect the information you share with us.

Your Privacy Choices

If you've visited this site, we may hold browsing data tied to your device, separate from any service request you've actually submitted, which we keep on file to fulfill it. Below, you can turn tracking on or off by category. You can also ask what we hold, request a copy, or ask us to delete your website activity — see "Ask about, export, or delete your data" below.

Choose what we track

Site Analytics is what lets us see which pages and marketing channels actually lead to a real plumbing request, and it's how we catch spam and fraudulent form submissions before they reach a real technician's schedule — it never leaves this site. Google Analytics is a separate, optional step on top of that: it shares anonymized visit and conversion signals with Google so we can judge whether an ad is working, and you can turn it off by itself while keeping Site Analytics on. Turning off Site Analytics turns off Google Analytics too, since Google Analytics only ever runs as part of that broader collection.

Ask about, export, or delete your data

To ask what we hold about you, request a copy, or ask us to delete your website browsing history, email [email protected] or call (813) 590-7499. We may ask a few questions to verify it's really you before responding. Deleting your website activity removes your browsing history and its cookies (including Google Analytics' own) but does not remove a service request you've already submitted — that stays on file as a business record, just no longer connected to your browsing history.

You can also do it yourself, from the browser you are using right now. These two buttons work on this browser only, because they rely on the cookie that identifies it: if you visited from another device, or have cleared your cookies, email or call us instead and we will look it up with you. Deleting also removes the IP address and browser details we stored for those visits.

California Visitors and "Do Not Track"

We do not sell your personal information, wherever you live. Our site does not respond to the older "Do Not Track" browser header, but it does honor the Global Privacy Control signal described under Cookies above, which serves the same purpose. If you are in California, or anywhere else, you can ask what we hold about you, request a copy, or ask us to delete your website activity using the contact details in "Ask about, export, or delete your data" above.

Children's Privacy

Our site and services are intended for adults seeking plumbing and home services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. We post any change on this page, and the "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
